NEW IRELAND MEDAL TALK IN BOAT CLUB

NEW IRELAND MEDAL

The original Ireland Medal introduced in 2003, has been retired after 12 presentations and will be replaced with a newly struck medal. The new medal has been sponsored by the Hogan Family in memory of their deceased ancestors James and Thomas Hogan who between them rescued about 50 persons from drowning in the River Barrow as it flows through New Ross, Co. Wexford, Ireland. The medal is inscribed “EXCEPTIONAL LIFESAVING” on the obverse side and “IN MEMORY OF JAMED HOGAN” on the reverse side.

IRELAND MEDAL CEREMONY AT GARDA COLLEGE

The 2015 Ireland Medal Ceremony took place on Wednesday 17th June in the Garda College (Ireland's Police Training College).
